Many of us are making new purchases or upgrading the electronics tools and devices in our homes for personal, family or homebased business use (especially us "sort of techie" moms). And with each of these purchases comes...the packaging! Packaging boxes can not only add clutter to our homes, but Mother Earth as well when we throw them out. So, being a supporter of the REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE Concept, I've chosen to have fun creating new ways to give our packaging boxes new life! Besides, we paid for the box, so why not! Here's one that I made last year from the box that my pretty blue and white ombre hp stream laptop arrived in. DIY Style!
TOOLS: TAPE, SCISSORS, PRETTY WRAPPING PAPER
THE BOX
WRAP LIKE A GIFT, AND...
TADA! MY NEW RISER! I Used It To Raise Up My Desktop Keyboard On My High Top Desk! (which is really my re-purposed craft table ;-). I really like the contrast between the black and white print on the desk (which is masking tape that I covered the whole table with) and the combination gold with sort of muted blue-grey print in the wrapping paper. There's a harmony somehow. It's really pretty. And the box height, length and width are a perfect fit for the keyboard.
Electronics Packaging Boxes vary in size and are really sturdy because they have to protect the delicate items inside. So you can re-purpose them for workhorse jobs like:
-Bookends (I used this one with two blackberry boxes)
-Lap Table for your laptop so it's not directly sitting, well...on your lap! (not good)
-Display stand for your tablet
-Stack them like stairs to display photos in frames, collectibles or small toys
-Use as Floor Snack Trays or Floor Art Tables for the kids or...
-Place one on your desk to give your office supplies or pretty planner a beautiful display stage that makes you smile. I love this one!
So there you have it! Please try this one. Look at the boxes that are being delivered to your home, or the ones that you haven't discarded yet and let your creativity run wild! Hold on to that extra wrapping paper you may have stashed away too, or go ahead and purchase a few pretty or fun prints from your fave discount or craft store! This is a great budget friendly project that would also be great fun for the kids (maybe use safety scissors and glue sticks for the little ones)!
